3 Ways to Always Win Big

Nobody Likes Losing

That’s right! It’s game day and time to get your game on! Let’s face it; nobody likes losing, so much so, that many refuse to even get into the race of life.  (Note: I define the “race” as any meaningful goal, wish, desire, or passion that defines what you want out of life.)

Meanwhile the ‘watchers’  vicariously just watch life go by and waste their precious existence watching others (via unlimited connectivity to media) live the lives they wish they had the courage to pursue.  Perhaps that’s why Americans spend as much as five hours a day watching television and the insatiable addiction to following the lives of celebrities.

What grand ideal are you putting off pursuing?

What great goal is languishing because you are procrastinating?  What wonderful wish is remaining, well … still just a wish.  Come on, don’t just watch the race of life, get in a lane, any lane! Most successful people will tell you, that most of the rush is in the race, not in the finish, and definitely not on the sidelines.  Many experience a, “Now what?” after they’ve achieved a goal.  But the real excitement was in the start, in the perseverance, and finally in the moments before and after the finish.

How Do You Know You Will Win?

So, what is it that you’ve always wanted to do but haven’t started yet for fear of losing?  Claim it now and go after it knowing that you will win.  How do you know you will win?  Because you are allowed to change the rules! Read my next three posts on three simple rules to get you started: 1) Redefine what winning means, 2) Improve on your own personal best, and 3) Learn something new and change your brain.

Lessons Learned from Competing #6A: Integrating Faith with Works

You must make sure you integrate Faith with your Works if you wish to see any significant results.  Faith is our sincere belief in what we are doing.  It’s easier to believe in something when we’ve prayed about it, feel love and have passion towards it, and can see it in our visions.

Our work refers to our deeds and means that we are actively doing something to achieve that which we say we believe in.  It’s so much easier to work at something when we know that it provides a valuable service, excites us, and makes a difference in the world.  But, we need both faith and works to accomplish our goals and be successful in our pursuits.  Performing arbitrary meaningless mundane actions and not really believing in what we are doing is as counter productive as believing strongly in something but taking no action at all.  So before you begin, ask for what you really want and believe it is possible, the rest is in the details.

Faith Is The Absence Of Fear and Fear Is The Absence Of Faith

So, why is it so hard for us to ask for more out of life so that we can reach our highest potential?  Two reasons come to mind when I think about why people do or don’t ask for more out of life, fear and faith.  And, when you really boil it down, it’s only one thing, for fear is the absence of faith and faith is the absence of fear.  Fear and faith are like two sides of the same coin.   You can only see one side at a time, when you flip it over you see the other side, but not both.  So choose!

Faith is the Catalyst to Attracting Success and Supporters

I’d now like to share two quotes from, ‘A Course in Miracles’ on faith, the first, If you knew who walked beside you, at all times, on this path that you have chosen, you could never be afraid.”

If you only knew who walked beside you at all times, you would never be afraid to reach your potential.  You would never be afraid to ask for what you want and you would never be afraid that you would not receive.  The second quote is, “Alone we are all lowly but, together we shine with brightness so intense that none of us alone can even think of it.” The key to seeing is to integrate faith with works.  You have to take action and do something. Your actions and your faith become the catalyst to attracting your success and supporters to you.

Nothing Happens If You Don’t Act!

When I entered the OWN Show Competition, I only had a 8 days to get the word out and I knew I could not do it alone.  Stan put together the video and made it all possible.  Maxine emailed people, called people, and even passed out flyers at the metro without me even asking.  Maxine, Roya, Tony, and Clif became my online warriors, voting continuously and telling everyone they knew to do the same.  Roya was so passionate about helping me that she inspired her friend Kadijah, who didn’t even know me  to pass out flyers at the metro too.  It was their magnanimous support and love that gave me the courage to get in the game and stay in the game in spite of the odds.  My sisters (Betty and Linda), my husband Gile, and my children voted and asked their friends to vote also.   I was truly blessed by the outpouring of support.  But, nothing would have happened if I did not act first.  Acting is the key to attracting. Part 7B: Success And Money Are Spiritual Matters (Biblical References)

Ask for The Wisdom and Knowledge to Serve Better and You Will Receive Riches

Continued from Part 1: Success and Money http://wp.me/ppImQ-rV

Napoleon Hill in his ‘Philosophy of Success” mentions the importance of consciously:

  1. Choosing what we want,
  2. Asking for it specifically,
  3. Promising what service we will do in exchange for our dreams,
  4. Reciting the goal and the promise we’ve made at least  a dozen times a day and,
  5. Always praying after the recitation of the request and the promise for wisdom and understanding .

In  fact he states that the secrets of his success was that he prayed (not for riches), but instead for more wisdom and knowledge to use the gifts and talents that he had been given at birth.  I know this to be truth because I found confirmation of his very prayer in the King James Bible.  We are admonished to ask, believe, and we will receive, but the following verse describes specifically what we are  to ask for.

Chronicle 2 in the King James Bible shares a story of Solomon.  1:10 Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people: for who can judge this thy people, that is so great?

1:11 And God said to Solomon, Because this was in thine heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, or honour, nor the life of thine enemies, neither yet hast asked long life; but hast asked wisdom and knowledge for thyself, that thou mayest judge my people, over whom I have made thee king: 1:12 Wisdom and knowledge is granted unto thee; and I will give thee riches, and wealth, and honour, such as none of the kings have had that have been before thee, neither shall there any after thee have the like.”

Wealth and Riches Are Gifts, Appreciate Them!

I’d personally like to add a #6 to the list above and that is to be grateful, for we know that it is a grateful heart that attracts blessings to us, and not a fearful, desperate, angry, entitled, arrogant, hateful, or ungrateful heart.

Many people are reluctant to set monetary goals for fear of sacrificing an even greater eternal life.  But in the King James Bible 1Timonthy verse 6:10, it clearly states that it is the love of money, not the money that is the problem.   “For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”   The key here is to desire service first and the money will come and to not “err from the faith.”  But Ecclesiastes 5:19, states,Every man also to whom God hath given riches and wealth, and hath given him power to eat thereof, and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labour; this is the gift of God.” I think it is important to understand that we are free to use our riches in whatever way we choose, but also have the responsibility to only take our portion.  That implies sharing the rest with others.

Part 1: May Day-(SOS) Motivation to the Rescue

Your Dreams Demand Your Urgent Attention Now

The term May Day or SOS is an urgent call for help. What’s so urgent, you ask?  Your dreams need an urgent intervention.  YOU are the emergency!  The clock is ticking on your dreams.  The universe is calling you, and you have put her on hold for far too long.

We are already half way through 2010 so I thought I’d send out an urgent SOS on your behalf to the universe to send help to you. A sense of urgency is  a prerequisite to realizing any dream and igniting energy and support.

I Hope It’s Not Too Late

I hope it’s not too late!  I hope you haven’t already given up on your dreams!  I hope you know that anything is possible if you believe.  I hope you haven’t allowed the lukewarm reception of others, their negative opinions, their doubts, their fears of the lack of practicality of your dreams, or their refusal to encourage or support you, to cause you to give up.  I hope you know that you deserve greatness, joy, peace, and work you can be passionate about and you deserve it NOW!  To continue to Part 2: http://wp.me/ppImQ-qf

Part 2: May Day- Time to Call in the Calvary?

Continued from part 1: http://wp.me/ppImQ-q9

You Are Not Supposed to Live in Doubt and Fear

You are supposed to be happy, fulfilled, excited about life, and have passionate goals to pursue. If you don’t, it’s a May Day moment.  Call in the cavalry!  You are not supposed to live in doubt but instead to know for sure that you can accomplish your dreams.  You are not supposed to fear failure and have low esteem, instead you are supposed to know that you are worthy, capable, noble, and necessary.   And yet so many are visionless, complacent, uninspired, robotic, disillusioned, and cynical.

Too Many People Are Living Mediocre, Mundane, and Humdrum Lives

Too many people with vision, capacity, and possibilities are living mediocre, mundane, and humdrum lives.  And, they should be allowed to, but the problem is that they are not happy.  And, hurt people, hurt other people.  They sit around complaining, creating doubts in the minds of dreamers, and being envious of those who overcome and succeed.

Too Many People Are Settling and Using Excuses

Too many people are settling and using excuses to justify their giving up on themselves and their dreams.  But, no one starts out that way.  We began life as dreamers, with hope, and with expectations.  Somewhere along the way we began to settle for whatever life served us and that is the travesty.  But don’t worry, help is on the way.  The fact that you took the time to read this newsletter and pass it on to others shows that you are on the path to truth and are bringing others with you.

Seeking Help is a Sign of Wisdom and Strength

You’ve figured out that you can’t do it alone right now but still have refused to ask for help. It is okay to ask for help.  Perhaps you’ve mistakenly thought that asking for help is a sign of weakness.  To the contrary, seeking wise counsel and support is a sign of wisdom and strength for we are all connected.  The native people teach us that we each have exactly what each other needs. Your help could come from anywhere.  But, you must ASK, and believe in order to receive!  True belief unleashes our nascent powers and attracts blessings and help to us.
