The Energy of an Oprah Possibility.

I was just reflecting on the amount of energy and hope I got from a simple call from a producer putting together a pilot for the Oprah Winfrey show.  In sharing this possibility and asking for prayers, this simple possibility spread energy and excitement to my family and friends as well.  That got me to thinking.  I have no idea of the outcome, and yet in the present moment I was excited and energized.  Since the opportunity has not yet been manifested physically, then it is not the outcome only that produces the energy, but the hope of a possibility does the same thing.

Energy Has Attraction Power

That being the case, then we should dream hopeful dreams and set exciting  goals all the time.  Like Jessie Jackson always said, “Keep hope alive.” What are you hoping for and what are you doing to “keep hope alive.”  It is that hope and faith that generate energy.  When there is no hope, there is no energy.  When there is no energy, we lose the power of attraction.  When we are feel hopeless we may be pushing away the very people who could help us and attracting the company of those who are also in misery.   Both hope and fear are contagious.  At any given moment, we are either spreading joyful energy or sucking energy out of everyone we connect with, so we must be very careful of our power.

We live our lives one moment at a time and if we have the power to influence the current moment and make it joyful, exciting, and hopeful, then we should do it habitually.  I also believe strongly that it is the energy of anticipation that helps to attract things to us.  Whether it is anticipating the realization of an exciting goal or the fearful anticipation of a calamity or negative outcome, our focus (energy) draws whatever we are thinking about to us.  I guess that’s why the Bible teaches us:  “As a man thinketh, so is he.”

Dream Derailer #9g- Insufficient Education (continued)

Can you imagine telling your parents you’re dropping out of Harvard to start a company?  That’s what Bill Gates did.  He had that much faith in his dream.  Andrew Jackson was a Congressman and President of the United States and never attended college.  Rachel Ray got her start teaching cooking classes even though she never went to culinary school.  She also has her own magazine and is a best-selling author.  John D. Rockefeller Sr. started Standard Oil and became the richest man in history with no college degree.  How many people reading this have allowed the fact that they don’t have a degree in a particular area to stop them from pursuing their dreams?  And, what if you wanted to be a movie producer but were denied access to film school, would that stop you?  It didn’t stop Steven Spielberg.

If You Need An Excuse, Any One Will Do!

Some people would allow the lack of money or age to keep them from going after their dreams, not  Mark Zuckerberg.  He had to borrow money to start Face-book and went on to become the youngest person to appear on the Forbes billionaire list.  And, Henry Ford never even graduated from High School.  That didn’t stop him from starting the Ford Automotive company.  Think of how many people were able to be employed and how his automating the car production process has changed our world.  One of his keys to success was that he surrounded himself with knowledgeable people.  Perhaps you should to.  Source- 10 Famous People Who Didn’t Go to College. What these extraordinary people show us is that if you have the talent, you can make it!  They followed their bliss.

Dream Derailer #9f: Insufficient Education

Talent and Education Are Not  The Same

What do Halle Barry, Mary Kay Ashe, Michael Dell, Bill Gates, Andrew Jackson, Rachel Ray,  John D. Rockefeller Sr., Steven Spielberg, Mark Zuckerberg, and Henry Ford, have in common?  You guessed it, no college degree.   That just proves that if you have the passion and talent, the lack of a formal education should not stop you from reaching your dreams.  All but one on the list are at least a millionaire and half were billionaires.

If you have the talent, you can go on to be a famous actress, build a cosmetics company empire, or start a computer company at age 19.  You can also become one of the most influential people of your time, the richest man in the world or in history, a talk show host, a movie producer and director, or create a social media phenomenon that would change how we communicate, or even revolutionize the auto industry.

Let Your Talent Guide You

No one would argue that all of the above mentioned non-degreed people are successful.  But none of them allowed the lack of a college degree stop them from reaching their dreams.  They had a passion and a drive and they went after it with all that they had.  Many even had additional obstacles to overcome beyond education.  Mary Kay Ashe didn’t let the lack of money stop her from starting Mary Kay Cosmetics.  Michael Dell didn’t allow the lack of proper facilities stop him and started Dell computers in his college dorm room.

The important thing is that their talent or dream empowered them to succeed.  What is your talent?  My friend and past mentor, Dr. Percy Thomas inspires his students with these words, “Keep your focus on your strengths and not your weaknesses. Life is too short to spend your time on acquiring talents that God has not gifted to you.” But, the talents you are gifted with, give them your all and watch magic happen!  And finally, the Buddha says: “Your work is to discover your world and then with all your heart give yourself to it.”  (Continue to part 2 of this article)

Dream Derailer #8c: Ingratitude for Visions

Be Grateful for Your Dreams and Visions

Visions are gifts to you of what is possible if you would just honor your dreams and moral thoughts and act on them.  Each thought has its own frequency and energy and it is this energy that guides us to our highest potential.  When we are on the right frequency, we have the power of attraction and the right people, resources, and opportunities unfold before us with amazing ease.  When we are on the wrong frequency or the wrong track, much of life seems to be a burden or uphill battle.

Visions are Divine Signs

That is why it is important to spend time focusing on our dreams and visions.  We must keep them foremost in our thoughts so that they can guide us to our intended reality.   It helps to respect our visions when we realize that not only are they possible but that they already exist in the thought realm. We must treat them as sacred and understand that to see future possibilities is a divine sign specifically for us.  We would not receive a vision if it was not possible.  To ignore these gifts, is to ignore our highest potential.  We must understand that thoughts are real but they need our focus, faith, and action to coax them from the realm of  thought into the realm of reality.

Dream Derailer 8b: Failure to Honor Visions (Free Will and Faith)

Critical Importance of Free Will and Faith

Do you realize how powerful you are?  If so, then have you forgotten?  You are noble, worthy, powerful, and creative.  We are co-creators in creation.  We have unlimited potential and possibilities.  And, with that power we have been given the free will to embrace or ignore our visions.

We Must Choose

We have to consciously choose a vision if it is to manifest in our lives.  We choose what we want to attract by focusing our thoughts, energy, will, faith, and action on it.  But of course, this only works if we believe. Regrettably, so many people still have so little faith that they cannot generate the spiritual energy necessary to make their dreams become reality.

Faith Is Required to Embrace a Vision

It requires faith to embrace a vision of some future possibility and that is perhaps why so many people fail.  Belief in your dreams is critical, for why would anyone dedicate their lives to something that the didn’t believe in?  Go ahead, many choices are before you, but you must decide which way to go.  Don’t treat free-will like a burden, see it for what it truly is, a gift.
