Be a Better Bouncer: Control Your Thoughts

MY TIMEBe Armed and Ready Each Morning to Direct Your Own Thoughts

Each morning when we awake, the world is ready to present to us what it wants us to focus on. The newscasters, marketers, reporters, and radio personalities have been up before the crack of dawn determining what they want us to think about.  What we think about, we help to bring about! They know that some will start their days with the television (even before prayer and meditation). Others will start with family demands, coffee and a newspaper, or perhaps with the phone calls, video games, social media, email, or the dramatic issues of those people around them. That is why it is so critical that we each learn to guard and direct our own thoughts!  If we don’t; others will!

What the world presents to us, we tend to see and think about. Thoughts lead to action.  Wallace D. Wattles, author of The Science of Getting Rich, warns that the hardest thing for human beings to do is to think their own thoughts and to hold a sustained and consecutive thought in their minds. He understood the destructive power of suggestions and distractions.  A confused and overwhelmed mind has very little power. All of this “information” we take in may seem harmless, but the sheer volume of these unplanned thought suggestions at their worst dishearten, discourage, and distract us from focusing on and creating the reality that we wish to see and manifest. We must control the journey our mind takes each day.

bouncer-droidWe each have been given a distinct calling and the creative tools to manifest whatever we focus our powerful thoughts on.

We must learn to guard your thoughts like bouncers guard the entry into exclusive clubs. They have a list. If you are not on the list, you don’t get in. Our values, beliefs, and goals serve as our list. But, these goals must be clear and we must be consciously vigilant to protect them because our minds don’t discriminate and will pay attention to whatever thoughts get there first.

You and I have the power and the responsibility (like a bouncer in a club) to determine what thoughts get in. We are thinking creatures and whatever thoughts get to our minds first take over.  Even if we manage to push them out, all thoughts still  leave their traces.

Other thoughts (perhaps your own) have to work harder to displace those lingering competing thoughts. That is why it is critical that we have our own clear goals! Write them out each night and reflect on before you go to sleep. This allows our subconscious mind to work on them while we sleep. Then, when we open our eyes each morning, we are ready to manifest our own dreams. Our internal bouncer has it’s own priority list.  However, if we don’t have specific goals and the self control to direct our own thoughts, these competing thoughts will continue to take over or distract us from making our own dreams come true.

Seven Good Reasons to Laugh More

Did you know that a hearty laugh can leave your body relaxed for up to 45 minutes?  Or that laughter boosts your immune system for up to three days?  Everyone feels good when they laugh, so why don’t we do it more. Laughter releases endorphins that change your mood for the better.   I was cleaning out some old files and came across an anonymous funny quip that someone sent me in 2006.  It made me smile so I decided to share it with you to pay it forward.   In this article, see if you can find at least seven reasons to laugh more.

“Dear Lord, So far today,  I’m –doing all right. I have not gossiped, lost my temper, been greedy, grumpy, nasty, selfish, or self-indulgent.  I have not whined, complained, cursed, or eaten any chocolate.  I have charged nothing to my credit card. But I will be getting out of bed in a minute, and I think I will really need your help then.”  Anonymous

“Humor is infectious. The sound of roaring laughter is far more contagious than any cough, sniffle, or sneeze. When laughter is shared, it binds people together and increases happiness and intimacy, ” writes Melinda Smith, M.A., Gina Kemp, M.A., and Jeanne Segal, in their article ‘Laughter is the Best Medicine.’   Also, read about eight ways to improve stress through laughter at  About.com.  There are probably people in your life who also make you laugh.  Thank them because through laughter they are helping you to protect your heart, increase pain resistance, and help your marriage or other relationships.  Now I’d like you to pay it forward.  If you’ve got a funny story or link that will make us laugh, please comment and share below.

Are You On Purpose?

“Until thought is linked with purpose there is no intelligent accomplishment,” wrote James Allen, author of ‘As a Man Thinketh.’  There have been times in my life that my excitement and energy were so pronounced that people have asked, “What are you on?”  I’d respond with, “I’m on purpose!” At those times I was undoubtedly thinking about things that excited me, motivated me, and uplifted me. My vision and perspectives were uplifting and clearly I was thinking about meaningful things, purposeful things, or things that brought me or someone else joy.   At those times, I tended to have absolute hope in the future, faith in people, and understood that divine grace was guiding and protecting me.

Elevate Your Thoughts and Elevate Your Reality

Eleanor Roosevelt wrote: “Great minds discuss ideas. Average minds discuss events. Small minds discuss people.”  I can say for sure when my energy, vision, and excitement are high that I am most certainly NOT thinking about events or gossiping or complaining about people.  When my thinking was skewed, I’d fear the future, distrust people and their intentions, and feel all alone and hopeless in my doldrums.  But when my thinking is right, that faithful feeling of knowing and of being connected sparks my creativity and solutions to whatever problems I have become clear.  The right person, thought, idea, or circumstances seem to appear before me.  I’ve learned that if I listen to my guidance and act immediately, that solving whatever problem is before me becomes an exciting journey rather than anxiety driven mission.  Even more importantly the “problems” are no longer debilitating but instead become opportunities for growth.  Just changing my perspective changed my focus and changing my focus changed my reality.   You are the driver and your thoughts can take you anywhere, so be careful and stay alert.

Dream Derailer #2b: Ignoring the Body’s Real Needs

If we don’t drink water, we die.

Have you ever  said, “Thank You,” to your water?   Masuru Emoto in his books on the ‘Hidden Messages in Water’ teaches that water is alive, has memory, and consciousness.   His research shows that just having an intention infused into the water changes it cellular pattern which he has captured in pictures.  If water is so significant to life, doesn’t it make logical sense that the quality of the water would be significant too?

Gabrielle Cousens also affirms the significance of consuming good quality water in his discussion of water as a carrier of historical information.  He explains that “structured water” can have up to a million cellular layers.  He states that not all water is good and that good quality waters energizes its host but bad water can cause its demise.   F. Batmanghelidj in his book, ‘You’re Not Sick, You’re Thirsty’, states, “The human body is a composite structure made of many different systems. All these systems are dependent on the various properties of water for their normal function.  When there is not enough water in the body for all the functions to take place, something has to give.”

Don’t Become Slaves to Pain and Pills

Conscious eating, drinking, and breathing are just as important as consciously pursuing career, educational, financial, security, and relationship goals.  You can’t continually put your health on hold without serious consequences.  And, wouldn’t logical, responsible, or health seeking people want to take care of the systems that take care of them?   Two days ago I attended an event where a national journalist in her early thirties shared how she had climbed the ladder of success, finally realized her dream, and had a heart attack.  She was young, beautiful, talented, and successful and yet according to the paramedics on the scene, she was just ten minutes away from losing it all!  Too many people are becoming lifetime slaves to pills and pain because of health conditions brought on by their own neglect.  What good is it to gain all the resources one needs to live on top of the mountain contentedly and not have the energy to climb up and enjoy the view?    If you are to manifest your dreams, you have to be here to do it.  You have to be alive.  You have to have energy.

ACV: A Super Tonic for Super Energy and More

Use Apple Cider Vinegar As A Tonic

“When the student is ready, the teacher will appear.”    This phrase comes to mind because I had heard about the benefits of ACV years ago at a Women’s Gathering that I organized.  I asked all the women to come prepared to share natural remedies that they had used or learned about growing up.  One older lady present discussed how she had taken ACV when traveling to other countries and had never gotten a stomach virus even when all of her co-workers had gotten ill.   When I purchased a bottle, I noticed that there was a recipe for an energy tonic right on the label.  The recipe consisted of vinegar and honey or  blackstrap molasses three times a day.    Folk Medicine: A Vermont Doctor’s Guide to Good Health, written by D.C. Jarvis, M.D states that cider vinegar could destroy harmful bacteria in the digestive tract and recommended it as a digestive tonic to be consumed with meals.  I know that my daughter and I had started using vinegar for cleaning the house, but I had never considered it for internal cleaning.

Apple Cider Vinegar Even Helps Thicken Thinning Hair

But, it wasn’t until a family member shared her personal story about ACV a few months ago that I took it to heart.  Since then I have been drinking ACV regularly.  I swear even my toenails which have been dark since I can remember are getting lighter.   My relative talked about how ACV had helped to restore her daughter back to health.  The ACV removed the mercury from her daughter’s frail body through her scalp after a near death experience after a childhood vaccination.  She also talked about how it had helped to thicken both of her daughters hair as well as friend’s whose hair was thinning. After several months her friend’s hair was thick again.  All the women present wanted some right then.  She encouraged me to use ACV to detangle my daughters’ thick afro hair after washing it.

Get Raw Brown Vinegar with the Mother In It

She raved about it so much that I decided that I wanted to find out more about it.  At first I got the wrong kind.  I didnt know whether to get white or brown vinegar, apple or rice, or distilled.   The white vinegar didnt work for ailments but worked wonders on my white tile.   Brown vinegar that’s processed also didnt work.  I was instructed to make sure that I got the Braggs Brand with the ‘mother’ in it.   It also had to be organic,  raw, and unfiltered.

To my surprise, the Bragg’s brand http://bragg.com/products/acv.html had a tonic recipe right on the bottle.   But, a little research on the web uncovered even more secrets of ACV.  Here is what I found out at http://www.earthclinic.com/Remedies/acvinegar.html

Health Benefits of ACV (Apple Cider Vinegar)

Apple Cider Vinegar, that wonderful old-timers home remedy, cures more ailments than any other folk remedy.”   This site has been recording the health benefits of ACV for the past eight years.  Here’s how they summarize the benefits of ACV: “They include cures for allergies (including pet, food and environmental), sinus infections, acne, high cholesterol, flu, chronic fatigue, candida, acid reflux, sore throats, contact dermatitis, arthritis, and gout. One reader reported that a shot of ACV saved him from going to the emergency room for heart pain. Apple Cider Vinegar also breaks down fat and is widely used to lose weight. It has also been reported that a daily dose of apple cider vinegar in water has high blood pressure under control in two weeks!” On a personal note, another family member is using it right now with cayenne pepper for shingles.  Be sure to check out my post on cayenne. http://tinyurl.com/cayenne-superfood

Note:  I am not a doctor or health professional, just a person seeking super health through natural healing remedies.  Check out everything yourself and do your own research.   My irridologist doesn’t agree with the hype about ACV.  So, you’ll have to make up your own mind.  This info is only to get you started.
